Celtics handled by Clippers

The Celtics played the Clippers on wednesday night in a game that was thought to be a good one. Close and competitive. This was hardly what happened. The Clippers jumped to a 18 to 4 lead in the first 6 minutes and didn't let it slip. The Celtics for the second and third quarter scored almost the same as the Clippers but because of the slow start they were still down by around 15. The fourth quarter was where they gave up. They lost all need to win the game and quickly it showed. The final score of the game was around 110 to 77. Chris Paul was showcasing a clinic with his passes drives and occasional shooting from the outside. He definitely should be considered for the MVP because all of the Clippers offense is from a drive by him or a pass.

Exams

This upcoming week of school is Exam Week. Exam Week for Freshman in High School is a test on the entire first half of the school year. One, two hour exam each day. I am least worried about my exam in English and my Exam in Math. These units have been fairly easy for me. My challenging courses are Biology and French. The vocabulary you have to remember is what gets me. And lastly a subject that is neither a problem nor a walk through is History. History is all a 5 paragraph essay in which you show your opinion on religions. This could go either way.

Paquiao vs marques

I watched the boxing match that took place last night between Manny Pacquiao and Marquez. This was the fourth fight between the two great boxers, and Pacquiao was once again favored. It started off all Pacquiao, throwing punch after punch and winning each round by a point. In the third round Pacquiao was smashed with a right hook and fell to the ground. Still Pacquiao was winning and then in round four he struck at Marquez and evened the knock downs one to one. Then in the sixth round while Manny was delivering blow after blow, the stumping Marquez threw with everything he had a right hook straight to the middle of Pacquiao's face. Right into the nose and making him fall straight to the ground. Pacquiao fell and was knocked out by one of the strongest punches you will ever see. He broke his nose and entire face was ruined. Some thought at that moment, with Pacquiao face first on the  floor that he was dead. His wife was screaming and crying at impact. He laid there, silent without moving for a solid minute before being dragged up. In his interview he praised Marquez as all viewers just starred as his face. Mouth bleeding violently, nose completely flat, and eyes so baggy and swollen with blue under them.

Patriots hand it to the Jets

The Patriots handed it to the Jets Thursday night on NBC which was too most people an embarrassment. The Patriots scored 21 points in 52 seconds. First on a long touchdown, then a interception, and then a fumble on the kickoff. This sequence was one of the craziest things i've ever witnessed in football. It all happened so fast. The Patriots are looking good and after that week are ranked number 1 for most NFL analyzers. If the Patriots can play good defense and I guess have a little luck from special teams, then could easily win the Super Bowl especially if they get the bye week.

Patriots week 11 matchup

The Patriots take on a rather hot Colts team this week. Andrew Luck being everything the Colts could have asked for, but there are a few reasons why I still take the Patriots over the Colts with ease. Tom Brady has 18 touchdowns and only 3 interceptions this season, while Luck has 3 touchdowns and 8 interceptions on the road. Also Luck doesn't deal well with the pass rush so look for the Patriots to be blitzing Mayo and Spikes to try and create turnovers and not big gains down the field with the secondary of the defense still not quite figured out. My prediction is the Patriots will in a way cruise to victory this week and win 34 to 17. The Colts team is good but not quite at the level that they can beat this Patriots team with their struggles on the road.

Patriots edging the win

The Patriots came into the game against the Bills today confident and for good reason. The Bills defense has a poor secondary and their quarterback isn't good. But they were awakened in the third quarter when their lead became a 34 to 24 game. The Patriots were shut down for a while and it was fairly obvious a close game was in store. The game came down to the final seconds with the Bills getting the ball and charging down the field, down 31 to 37 with 26 seconds left in the fourth quarter. They found themselves at the 15 yard line looking to steal the game from the Patriots. This was all forgotten after quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick forced a pass into the zone of McCourtey and was intercepted to end the game. The Patriots really at times seem like they have the skill to win a championship but need to finish putting the pieces together. I think if the Patriots can prove themselves down the stretch of the regular season they will be at the top for championship favorites.

Patriots on bye week

With the New England Patriots on a bye week I was expecting to be a bit bored this week, but the Steelers and Giants matchup was hardly boring. The game featured some confusion. First the Steelers were without Rashard Mendenhall and Jonathan Dwyer, the first and second string running backs. And  third string Isaac Redman was banged up and questionable. He would play and prove to be helpful. The Giants were expected to be somewhat dominated by the aggressive defense that the Steelers have. Eli struggled early throwing bad passes and interceptions but the run game of Ahmad Bradshaw, who was questionable going into the day, had 100 plus rushing yards and a touchdown. This in the end wasn't enough as the Steelers got a touchdown by Isaac Redman who ended up with 121 rushing yards and a touchdown, and the defense got a stop with three and a half minutes left to take the ball back with a four point lead. They ended up getting first down after first down and would run out the clock to end the game. The Steelers improve to 4-3 while the Giants go to 6-2.

Fantasy Football and Patriots Week 8

I participate in a fantasy football league with some of my friends. If you don't know, fantasy football is a game where you draft players and as a coach decide who to start in each individual week. The players on your bench don't get points. You have one quarterback, two running backs, two wide receivers, and a flex. The flex can be a wide receiver or running back.

The Patriots got a big win today against the Rams. Yes the Rams aren't very talented but that kind of domination is motivational and should really boost the defenses confidence. They only allowed 7 points. Not to mention the offense was clicking on all cylinders. Gronkowski had two touchdowns. The team looks good and you can basically count on them winning the division. I think the Patriots are finally back on track. With the rough start there was some doubt of if they were a championship team but after that dominating game they have to be back in some peoples minds as a serious contender for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Patriots Defense

The New England Patriots defense has really struggled in late game situations this year. The most memorable defensive breakdown was in week 6 against the seahawks when Kyle Arrington allowed his man to run effortlessly by him into the end zone where he received the pass to give them the go ahead touchdown. The defense is really at a disadvantage with Devin Mccourtey playing Safety when he normally plays Cornerback. The only good part of the Defense is Spikes and Mayo at the linebacker positions. With the offense I often forget but you have to realize with the defense as young and inexperienced as it is, I question if the offense can over power the defense to forfill the playoff run. None the less I have hope in the team to not only make the playoffs but make it into the AFC Championship. I believe they will lose to the Texans in that game.

College Football Rankings

As the college football season progresses, I see a two teams in the BCS National Championship. Alabama has been the number 1 team in the nation for some time now and I cant see them being beat. The other team I see in the championship is Oregon. Their running game is just unstoppable. With all the weapons they have I see them keeping an undefeated season and cruising to the BCS championship.

Summer Olympics

The Summer Olympics have proved to be full of suprises already with the 38 year old Alexander Vinokurov winning Gold in the Biking race. But perhaps the more suprising news was Michael Phelps competing in the swimming qualifier and placing 8th and last in the semifinals by beating another swimming only by .7seconds. This even though I and many others doubted he would win the gold medal, was very suprising to see him barely qualify to compete for the gold. The Olympics continue tonight at 7pm eastern standard time on nbc.

NBA 2k12

The video game NBA 2k12 is a must get. The graphics are amazing, every player looks just how they do in real life. But what sets it apart is how certain players do certain moves. If I click a certain button it will make the player do their signature shot. For instance, if I do it with Kobe he will do a fadeaway jump shot, for Lebron a simple hesitation and jump shot. The game has became far beyond realistic, its scary, my mom saw me playing once and thought it was a real basketball game. Point is if you haven't bought the game yet, you could wait for NBA 2k13 to come out in november but make sure you buy it because I've never played a more eye opening game.

Boston Celtics Sign Courtney Lee

The Boston Celtics just recently signed Courtney Lee (the 26 year old who had play his last couple of seasons in Houston) in a sign and trade for JaJuan Johnson, E'twaun Moore, Sean Williams, and a second round pick from Boston in the 2013 draft. The reason I love this trade is because assuming Avery Bradley will definitely be missing the first month or so of the 2012-13 season, Courtney Lee can start until Bradley is healthy, making the bench even deeper with Jason Terry, Courtney Lee, Jeff Green, and Chris Wilcox. All of those players were either injured or on another team during the 2011-12 season.

Where is Howard Going?

Dwight Howard
Dwight Howard has made all the front pages on sites like nba.com and espn.com. He was thought to be  going to the Brooklyn Nets to join resign players Deron Williams and Gerald Wallace, and newly signed free agent Joe Johnson. But as you might have guessed Howard changed his mind yet again. Now rumor is Howard will meet with the Lakers and maybe be involved in a three way trade that will send Bynum to Houston, Howard to L.A. and a hole lot of money and draft picks for Orlando.

Ray Allen's Decision

Talk about Ray Allen's decision has been tossed and turned into several assumptions. I'm here to set things straight. Ray Allen was not having fun with the Celtics for a few years. When his ankle injury picked up last season he became desperate of a ring. Once the season ended Ray Allen met with the Celtics, Heat, and Clippers. His thought of the Clippers being that team that could win him a Championship quickly faded as the Clippers signed Chauncey Billups and Jamal Crawford making his role on the team disappear. Left was only the Heat and Celtics making the Celtics the leaders in the race for Ray. The Celtics offered Ray twice as much money as the Heat did and the bigger role on the team. My thought is that when the Celtics signed Jason Terry and already having Avery Bradley Ray thought his talents would be more needed in South Beach.

The Latest Celtics Talk

Lately talk about the Celtics has revolved around their draft picks and the resigning of Kevin Garnett. Having Sullinger and Melo enforces hope that the Celtics will have several more years of competitive basketball. There is already Rondo and Bradley in the backcourt for years to come and now the the additions of solid big men, this team could be great through 2016.
